Fastener Identification Chart

Written By: gordo - Jul• 05•11

Something I take for granted that I think everyone knows, is how to identify a fastener for its grade and other properties. This can be particularly important in critical applications where the  fastener is an integral part of the engineering. This ShopChartz™ shows the popular and some of the more obscure fasteners.

The grade of a fastener is actually marked on the fastener by a series and pattern of lines, dots, letters or numbers. Bolts generally have raised indicators, nuts have indented ones.

Below is a letter-size version of the ShopChartz™ Industrial  Fastener Identification Chart.

Watch for more ShopChartz™, coming soon! We’re working on a few but if there’s one you’d really like to see, drop us a note and we’ll look at what we can come up with.
